Pre-set Deadlines

Calendar:

I feel that it would be a great idea to set my self pre-set deadlines as it gives me time to scrutinise and amend anything that needs to be changed thus giving us the perfect resolution; or at least one we are content with.

By Thursday 24^th January- the font should be completely chosen and ready to work on for the Friday. This will give Louise time to edit and me time to complete journal posts as well as time to document the stages already taken place through the week and stages.

By Friday 25^th January- the font should have been started on Final Cut pro and there should be a post showing how I did this ensuring that Daisy can use my fonts for the transition, as I have to consider time management for Daisy to complete her role.

By Sunday the 27^th January- all the posts for documentation are complete so that I am ready to completely focus on the font transition by helping Daisy as there is so much she could do. I could possibly help by gibing her my research into fonts.

By Thursday- Everything should be complete for the first viewing this will ensure that the smaller errors that need to be made can be made rather then focussing all our efforts on just one major mistake. I hope that this will; ensure that we only have minimal pieces to correct as; it means that the things that are not necessarily liked in the crit we can change and just keep improving.

Making the Opening Title sequence Roles

Production Roles

We now, as a group had to decide allocated roles for the production part of or opening title sequence so that the majority of the work has a fair and even contribution from everyone. Our teacher thought that allocate roles in production would work well as it meant more could get done to higher standard but, still work cohesive as a group with the oversee of the director thus meaning a high standard opening title sequence.

In terms of the democratic process of choosing who should have each role it was more about what roles needed what skills and what interested the person. Below shows who enquired each role and why:

Titles = Thomas Madden. I took the specific role of titles as, I have an interest into the idea of titles and how visually text connotes thematic and the narrative of the film. Out of everyone I took this role because I feel that I can offer research as well as analytical skills. Personally I would have preferred Louise taking the role as, she is fantastic at graphics but, it would be unfair as, she has put such great detail into the preliminary edit of some of the footage.

 

Sound and special effects = Daisy Moore. Daisy took this role which I was most pleased about as, she is great with smooth transitions; this is evident in the footage so far which has been fantastic in abiding the storyboard and improving upon our initial thoughts. Daisy is also rather good at using the computer so hopefully the programming of after effects will be best suited to her.

Editing = Louise Taylor. Louise has so far completed an edit which was fantastic in terms of cutting accurately and abiding by the storyboard. Her skills with Final cut pro that she has required over the past months has been of high standard and I feel that the edit would be best suited to her as, Louise has that past experience.

Director = Nicola Vickery. Nicola is basically the leader of the production in terms of making the crucial decisions of what we do next and if what we have completed is good enough for the opening title sequence. So far, Nicola has been a good leader using her initiative when on set and in the classroom.

Specific Roles and Duties

Within this coursework and our opening title sequence we have to have specific jobs so that we each have fair and good contributions towards the work. We have assigned roles to each person and fitted them with every person, thinking which would be best for job and the make the best outcome with the job. The jobs and who is assigned to them is as follows:

Director -Nicola Vickery. We gave Nicola this role as, she is rather conscious of how to improve every piece of work, her desire to achieve and understanding into the media ''world'' will hopefully send a rush of excitement into our opening title sequence. Nicola's time management within everything she does adds to the consistency of any outcome she produces suggesting to us that she is the outright best for the position.
Cinematography Manager -Daisy Moore. Daisy was given this specific role as; Daisy’s consistent thought within the presentation of work and her aspiration to make the best product possible suggests that she will be the best for filming. Her knowledge and understanding towards the art world will  also suggest that any filming create will be presented in the best possible way, this will be evident at the presenting stage meaning that any effects or fillers will definitely be picked for cohesion of our opening title sequence.
Continuity Manager- Thomas Madden. I got this role as; I think I’m rather quick at spotting rules within the filming and hopefully we will then abide by the rules so that it is a success and follows through in the film world. I’m rather ambitious and sensitive towards critics so, will definitely plan the research for the rules and check whether there are mistakes within rules and if there are the amendments will be made directly.

Make-up, props, Location Co-ordinator- Louise Taylor. Louise got this role as she is also rather creative and has the ambition to drive forward the presentation of work, her ambition to detail will foreshadow success in the opening title sequence. The roles all merge into the mise-en-scene meaning that this advice is essential in the filming. It is suggested that her contextual graphic knowledge will keep consistency in the font when it comes to the editing stages.
